Halfway Through

On the second day

Of summer

After the spring

That wasn’t,

Those who had

Been paying attention

Mulled over glimpses

Of the shell game

Overturned,

Images through

The smoke and

Parted curtains

And realized how

Entrenched in deceit

And lies the system

Really was,

There you have it,

Helplessly holding on

Almost halfway through

Two thousand and twelve.
