When I See Her Again

When I see her again

Maybe I will tell her

What I saw when I

Looked into her eyes

The first time,

Perhaps I’ll explain

What I felt when

She touched me

The first time,

But then again

She probably would

Have little interest in

Such observations

So I will keep them

To myself,

Perhaps in their captivity

They will generate

 Line after line,

Poem after poem.

The phenomenon continues,

Intelligent, educated people

Discussing the goings on in

Other countries seemingly

Oblivious to the silent, quiet

Erosion happening in their

Own countries,

Voicing concerns about

Privacy and big brother,

Mindlessly living on their

Cell phones, portable devices,

Credit cards, debit cards,

Excited about the coming

Convenience of having

Everything on one thing,

Perhaps even an implanted chip,

Where are the real journalists,

Writers hiding ?

Have the embedded ones

Driven them into extinction ?

Do Lunch

The headlines read …

The Leaders Do Lunch,

Well they’ve done us

And almost everything else

So why not lunch ?

Someone asked me

To do lunch once,

 I was polite but

Non-committal …

It was too crazy to

Imagine making out

With a plate of spaghetti

Or whatever the hell else

They were serving.

A First Kiss

There is something about

A first kiss with someone

Who’s frequency is in

Tune with yours that is

Simply unforgettable,

It locks itself in that part

Of the memory that causes

Smiles, tears, sighs

Whenever it flashes,

That first kiss whether it

Be longed for, hoped for,

Expected, unexpected,

The kiss that leads to

So many other things,

Some of which fade,

Is never forgotten,

It returns often to

Playfully nibble at

Your lips leaving you

Tingling with desire

For a replay.
