Major Minor

For a few seconds,

Perhaps a little longer

For some,

An earthquake on the

West Coast,

A hurricane on the

East Coast,

And a few realized

That for much

Of their lives

They had majored

In minor things,

After the shaking

Had stopped,

After the wind

Had subsided,

Most went back

To doing what

They had always

Been doing.
