In The Dark

An owl blew his cover

Just past midnight,

Two tomcats fighting

For that nocturnal right,

A female wailing

With the victor’s delights,

I couldn’t see a thing

With my daytime sight,

But the noise

Was the kind of crazy

That fills a stranger with fright.
