Stormy Weather

The damn wind

Kept blowing the door ajar,

Each opening caused

The buzzers to ring,

We would poke our heads

Around the kitchen door frame

To see if anyone was there,

Usually nobody was,

So we toasted St. Viateur

Sesame seed bagels,

Spread them with real

Butter and Victoria style

Cream cheese,

I sprinkled cracked black

On mine, we munched

Bagels, sipped tea and spoke

About things you would never

Discuss with acquaintances or strangers.
