Middle Of The Road

The left, the right,

Would come in to

Talk, discuss, debate

Over espresso and cappuccino,

The centrists seldom came,

And when they did

It was a takeout or a

Quick drink and away

As if they were afraid

That someone might have

Something thought provoking

Or controversial to say,

I often wondered if they

Ever kissed a woman’s

Bottom lips or if they

Were hip to hip,

Middle of the

Road all

The way.

The Amethyst

Literally hours after

The Aquarian full moon,

She took the Amethyst

And was gone

Zoom  zoom,

Who would have thought

That one so fair

Would use a rosary

To snare a hare,

And of course

As fate would

Have it,

There was no turtle

To set us square.

Picnicking

We sit

With our hot dogs,

Sausages and platters

Of processed meats,

Crackers and buns  of

Marvellous Monsanto wheat,

Seedless tomatoes as big

As melons,

Non dairy cheeses,

Fake sweet teasers,

We chat

About the third

World countries we

Vacation in,

How nearly impossible

It is to eat

With unwashed fruits

And vegetables,

Almost live meat.

Heat

A crazy day waiting

On another full moon,

Coffee pot exploded

Sprayed the whole damn room,

A piano play strolled in

Wearing candy cane shorts,

Nobody noticed

This jazzman’s sport,

It’s hot and it’s humid

Anger bitching on the street,

Seems many people simply

Can’t stand the heat.
