Arts And Gifts

The art,

The gift of

Cipher and of

A great sadness,

Almost none believe

And after the fact

There’s vengeful

Anger and resentment

That the warnings were

Not louder.

String Theory

Quantum mechanics

String theory

Parallel universes,

To a fundamentalist

These are often taboo,

The mere thought

Shakes their world,

I suppose that’s why

Through the ages

Books have been burned,

Art destroyed,

Thinkers erased,

Illusion must be

Protected at any cost,

Especially when it is

Viewed as gospel.

To The Nines

She stopped by

After her three months

In Europe,

Still beautiful,

Still stunning,

As elegant as ever

With a new fellow

In tow,

But something

Didn’t seem to fit,

Like the uncomfortable

Uneasiness you see when

A shorts and jeans person

Dresses up every two or three

Years in what they consider

To the nines.

The rock band

At the church service

Reminded me

Of stripper music,

The boom boom

Take me up

To your room stuff,

But then the band

Isn’t the attraction

At a strip bar,

I suppose there’s

Naked women at one

The naked word

At the other.

Sweet Spot

In that sweet spot

The power of the wind

That can swing a boom

And crush your skull,

And the power of the

That can open wide

And swallow you whole,

In between in that sweet spot

Is where you truly know

The beauty of being alive,

If only for

An instant more.
