Into The Picture

It was an evening

Of the wind fluttering

The flag,

The jazz low and

Melancholy,

The trees outside

The window

Starting to bud,

Their branches like

Hundreds of outstretched

Fingers waiting

For some druid

To pin leaves to

Their tips,

I thought about you,

It’s uncanny how you

Step so warmly into

The picture.

Shooting Star

One seldom sees

A million shooting stars,

But every now and then

One so bright

It seems to slow

In sight,

Leaving you

Remembering forever,

Like the rare encounter

With a soul so sweet,

Even though the

Time is short

It’s so complete,

Like a shooting star

Leaving you

Remembering forever.

Isn’t Democracy Grand

Isn’t Democracy grand!

So a group vote

To leave a rioting

Anarchy and join

What they perceive

To be stability,

The self-appointed

Proponents of Democracy

And freedom don’t like

The results and seize

And set up sanctions !

Someone said

Not everyone voted—-

Isn’t that what happens here?

They didn’t ask the right

Ballot questions —–

Isn’t that what happens here ?

It was against international law —

You mean the law of Afghanistan,

Iraq, Libya, Palestine, Guantanamo Bay?

Isn’t Democracy grand!
