Changing Plans

Changing plans always has

A hollow melancholy corner,

There’s always the gnawing

What if, what if,

But like the seasons

There comes an end time

To hanging on,

It’s all a matter of

Mustering the optimistic

Because who really knows

What the changing weather will bring.

No one really knew her

But everybody did

In that busy place

Of gossip,

The small town

Where she lived,

She always smiled

And nodded

She knew

What people said,

So she moved

To the city

Left them chattering

In their heads.

Nude Beach

A group of older gals

Were discussing visiting

A nude beach,

Gathering strength from

One another they all

Committed to wear the

Appropriate attire,

You’re never too old

To enjoy the thrills and

Spills of being alive,

They all nodded and agreed

They would be hurting

No one by visiting

A nude beach.

Spells And Mathematics

In one respect

Life is the mathematics

Of coming under the spell,

The formulas of man and woman,

One can never forget

The addition, multiplication,

Subtraction, division,

If the numbers don’t mess

With yourself then surely with

Someone you know,

From euphoria to misery

And back again we dance,

We dance.
